XTAP Handler

The XTAP is a bulk fed handler for placing devices (especially 4 pin axial Hall sensors) on a cardboard tape. The machine tapes the devices on two tapes at the two sides of the machine, thus reducing the index time.

A bowl feeder and inline feeder orient the devices and bring them to a singulator from where they are picked up by a pick-and-place system. By using a dual gripper there is the possibility to load and tape at the same time hence reducing the index time.

When a device is picked up, it is placed in a complex tool where it is aligned and glued to the cardboard tape by means of a glue tape.
The device is placed onto the tape according to the machine specification. This is checked by a vision system.
