XTA is a modular low cost, high volume tester. It performs digital,
analog and mixed digital/analog tests over ASIC's at high speed (40MHz
max. pattern speed, 3ns edge resolution) as well as reliability in
condition of production and experiments. It can be used to perform
PCB in-circuit test and discrete component tests.
The tester provides 128 digital channels that can be assigned either
as inputs, outputs or bidirectional channels during the digital tests,
or forced with given voltages or currents through four common analog
buses.
The internal 6½ digital multimeter can be connected to any
analog bus.
Two timing measurement units with accuracy better than 0.5ns are available.
XTA includes up to six programmable power supplies.
It also features an acquisition card with one output and two input
channels.
An RLC measurement unit is also available.
XTA is controlled by a PC running the Linux operating system. The
controlling PC is connected to the tester using standard USB 1. 1.
(12Mb/s).
This tester has no test head that makes it extremely movable. Application
specific electronics can be added to the tester on the so-called 'loadboard',
which also handles the interface to the DUT (Device Under Test).
XTA contains two programmable interface cards that allow communication
to standard and custom handling/probing equipment.
All design and evaluation software as well as all libraries are distributed
under Open Source policy to allow easy integration of the tester into
already existing setups.
Diagnostics, calibration and certification are so easy that it can
be done in-house.
