The calibration handler XHORC-1.0.0 is a semi-automatic handler for
modules, small printed circuit boards or specific sensors. It consists
of an environmental chamber with an automated transport system, and
an adapted contact block in a controlled flow system.
The modules are manually loaded / unloaded on the contact block as
panels of 6 to 24 modules. Then, in sequence, each module is automatically
positioned using the XY transport system for testing or calibrating
their specific properties.
The transport system is a high precision X-Y table, driven by two
servo motors placed outside the environmental chamber. It carries a
contact block with loaded DUT modules. Different panels or DUT modules
can be positioned and the test cycle of each DUT module can be programmed
for various applications. Each custom DUT module panel requires a specialized
contact block. For high volume production there is an option for automated
loading /unloading combined with a pre-soak chamber.
The temperature of the chamber is controlled by the use of four PT-100
sensors, a heater and a chiller. The temperature can be preset within
a range of 10 °C up to 85 °C.
The Graphical User Interface provides an easy setting up of the parameters
of the handler operations and allows diagnostic control over all actuators
and sensors of the handler.
In one application, the XHORC handler is being used for testing and
calibrating infrared modules.
